Honda’s June sales in China presented a slower year-on-year decline of 6.0% versus its dropping pace of 15.3% in the previous month. However, Mazda’s year-on-year monthly sales change in China has widened to -16.7% last month from -2.4% in May.

Nissan

Nissan vehicle sales in China climbed 10.4% in June over the previous year to 131,038 units (including imported vehicles), according to the data the company released.

Among that, the PV sales of Dongfeng Nissan and Dongfeng Venucia in June reached 110,305 units in total, jumping 13.2% year on year. However, the June sales performance of the CV unit (including Dongfeng Automobile Co., and Zhengzhou-Nissan) edged down 3% over the year-ago period to 16,577 units.

For the first half of this year, the China sales volume totaled about 720,447 vehicles for Nissan, up 10.8% compared with the year-ago period. Its PV sales rose 11.6% year on year with 602,967 units delivered so far this year, while the CV cumulative sales reached 98,085 units, rising 10.4% from a year ago.

Toyota

Toyota Motor's China sales reached around 117,800 units in June, climbing 10.2% from the previous year. For the first six months, the Japanese automaker delivered a total of about 680,000 vehicles in China with a year-on-year increase of 9.0%.

GAC Toyota, one of its joint venture in China, saw its year-to-date sales jumping 21.3% from the previous year to 258,866 units. To be specific, the sales of the Levin family amounted to 94,047 units, accounting for 37% of the automaker’s total sales through June. Besides, the Jan-to-June sales of the Camry were 70,331 units, boasting the biggest year-on-year sales growth of 36.6% in terms of single model.

Honda

Honda Motor's China sales declined 6% in June over the previous year to 107,985 units, according to the sales data released by Honda China.

For the first six months, the company saw its cumulative sales dropping 6.4% year on year in the world's largest auto market to 609,100 units.

GAC Honda delivered 61,301 vehicles in June, achieving a year-on-year growth of 9.8%. However, the other joint venture Dongfeng Honda June sales plunged 20.9% from the year-ago period to 46,684 units.

The Tokyo-based carmaker said on July 3 that its China sales have faced year-on-year decrease for 5 consecutive months. Honda's sales took a hit in China after the quality issues of its CR-V SUV model exposed earlier this year. Although Dongfeng Honda solved the issue by filing a plan in May to recall troubled cars, it has not made Honda sales pick up in China by the end of June.

Mazda

Mazda's China vehicle sales in the first half of 2018 set a new high of 145,842 units with a year-on-year growth of 7.6%, according to Mazda Motor (China) Co., Ltd. However, the automaker saw its China sales in June falling 16.7% over the previous year to 19,312 units.

As to its two joint ventures in China, FAW-Mazda's cumulative sales for the first six months totaled 59,070 units, edging up 0.4% year on year. Its sales drivers the Atenza and the CX-4 have seen robust sales performance in recent months. Besides, the Mazda MX-5 Roadster has been for sale in China through the channel of FAW Mazda.

Changan Mazda achieved a year-on-year sales jump of 13.1% in the first half of this year with a total of 86,772 vehicles delivered. The joint venture plans to launch the all-new SUV mode CX-8 in the second half of 2018.
