Trans Texas Tire recalls China-made Contender 5.70-8 tires

Trans Texas Tire (TTT) is recalling 560 Contender 5.70-8 tires sold exclusively through Discount Tire stores.

The tire sidewalls are incorrectly labeled, in that each side of the tire may state different PLY and PSI markings.

Incorrect PLY and PSI markings may result in underinflating or overloading the tires, increasing the risk of a crash.

Those recalled tires were produced by China's Qingdao Qihang Tire between April 1 2018 to May 31 2018.

Founded in 2000, Qingdao Qihang Tyre CO., Ltd is a tire manufacturer located in Pingdu, Qingdao China. Covering an area of around 130,000 square meters, Qihang Tyre employs over 400 staff, who create annual production output worth 210 million RMB.

Besides, Qihang Tire has been certified by U.S.A. DOT, CCC, REACH, and EMARK and meet with ISO standards.
