Nokian Tyres: fully exploit Chinese market

The Certification and Accreditation Administration published on Mar. 16 the Reply on Inquiry about Tire Products to Nokian Tyres Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.

The file makes clear that products imported by Nokian Tyres ahead of Jan. 1, 2018 are capable of selling in the distribution channel.

Xu Zonghan, general manager of Nokian Tyres Trading (Shanghai), said the company haven't establish any partnership with domestic producers and all its products sold in China are imported.

All the tires sold after Jan. 1, 2018 have acquired CCC.

The sales of Nokian Tyres in China base on traditional channels: wholesale and retail. At the same time, it has cooperated with a few e-commerce platforms.

The tire producer sells about 100,000 tires in China, with snow tires taking up 90%, according to Xu.

The sales value of Nokian Tyres in China only stands at 5% of the producer's global sales.

Xu said the company will enhance the promotion and fully exploit the Chinese market.

Nokian Tyres adjusted its organizational structure this year and the global executive vice president is directly in charge of the Chinese market.
