Sichuan’s first FTZ Trade and Exhibition Center for Parallel-import cars is on trial operation

Sichuan’s first FTZ trade and exhibition center for parallel-import cars is put into trial operation in Qingbaijiang Area on May 18th. The center will integrate parallel-import cars’ display, sales, financial services, insurances with auto parts and storage, providing completely complementary services for downstream companies in the industrial chain and striving to become an industrial benchmark in Western China.

It’s learned that the center is established by Chengdu Free Trade Supply Chain Services Co. Ltd. It’s introduced by relevant person in charge that the center aims to provide “one-stop” services for imported car brands’ sales and after-sales services.

The center also has deep cooperation with several financial institutions including ICBC, BOC and Export-Import Bank. It will provide financial services to producers such as issuing ELC Electronic Letter of Credit, advanced tax payments, negotiated transactions and insurance agents. It will also sign “three guarantee” agreements with PICC to provide whole car insurance, quality assurance and commercial insurance.

It’s known that the center has two stories, with the first floor belonging to shopping malls and the second floor containing office zones. The center has a total displaying area of 10,000 square meters, which could hold more than 100 displaying cars.

By omitting several links, parallel-import cars have lower prices compared with similar products in the market. Customized services could also be provided in parallel-import cars.

In the future, the FTA will link on-line activities with off-line activities, and keeps on improving relevant mechanism to make an auto industrial zone and establish a national-level laboratory.
