On May 18th, information from NDRC’s website shows that BEV construction project of Guangdong GreenWheel Electric Vehicle Co. Ltd. got approved, meaning that the 14th BEV production certificate is issued, just one month after the 13th certificate’s issue.
GreenWheel’s project will provide an annual capacity of 50,000 units with a total investment of RMB 1.78b, which locates in Mingcheng Industrial Park.
Till now, BAIC BJEV, Changjiang Auto, Qiantu Motor, Chery New Energy, Minan Auto, Wanxiang Group, JMEV, Jinkang Auto, NEVS, Yudo Auto, Know Beans, SDEV, Zhejiang Hozon Auto and GreenWheel have obtained 14 BEV production certificates, including low-speed BEV auto companies such as GreenWheel.
It’s learned that the BEV cars co-produced by GreenWheel and JMC Group at the end of 2011 has successfully passed the bump test and 15,000 KM reliability test and is listed in recommendation catalogue. The cars joined in the MIIT BEV project team since April, 2014, and successfully passed all strict tests. In May, 2012, the first batch of GreenWheel BEV cars got license plates and started on the road in Gaoming District, Foshan City. GreenWheel has great determination in developing alternative energy passenger vehicles, and it plans to become the most competitive BEV auto company in China and even Asia with a period of three or five years.
According to the administrative licensing, GreenWheel will establish stamping shop, welding shop, paint shop, assembly shop, comprehensive office buildings and R&D centers with a total investment of RMB 1.783b.
