Bonzer opens sheet rubber factory in China

Nanjing Bonzer Rubber & Plastic Co. Ltd. has opened a new factory for the production of rubber sheet and matting in Xuancheng.

The 129,000-sq.-ft. facility is producing the Chinese company's rubber sheet for industrial, consumer and agricultural uses, in widths of up to six feet.

"The new factory has run into formal operation about one month and we have more than 100 employees," a company spokeswoman said in a statement.

The factory has started up with seven sets of machines with another 13 sets scheduled to be installed.

"So, today the production capability is only 18 metric tons per day," she said. "When all the machines are installed, our production capability will be 53 metric tons perday."

The rubber sheet materials include SBR, NBR, CR, EPDM, fluoroelastomer and silicone, some with fabric-reinforcement. Applications include gaskets, O-rings, conveyors for food production lines, animal-stable mats, playground surfaces.

With the new unit, Nanjing-based Bonzer Rubber—which also operates a factory in China's Lishui district—has more than 300 employees and an annual output of rubber products of more than 30,000 metric tons.
