Yokohama responses to truck and bus tire production line shutdown

Yokohmama has told Tireworld.com that its Suzhou plant has transformed the truck and bus tire production lines to passenger car tire production lines in end-May, in a bid to deal with increasing orders for passenger car tires.

Over the past few years, as Yokohama develops in China’s market gradually, it has received increasing number of orders for passenger car tires.

However, its capacity is insufficient and it is hard to meet market demand.

Therefore, Yokohama adjusted the development plan last year to shut down the truck and bus tire production lines in Suzhou plant and to produce passenger car tires.

The Suzhou plant of Yokohama will be used to produce passenger car tires only.

In addition, Suzhou Yokohama Tire Co., Ltd. was on the list of primary polluting companies by local government.

Firms on the list have to publish their pollutant discharge condition.

Suzhou Yokohama Tire said it has always been focusing on the control of pollutant discharge and environmental protection.
