Linglong Tire commits to build aircraft tire production line
China’s second homemade C919 airliner made a successful trial flight on Dec. 17.
Currently, China hasn’t its own technology and products of airliner radial tire, which completely depends on import.
To break down the technical barriers, Chinese tire producers, including Linglong Tire, are willing to make their contributions.
The kick-off meeting of the “Basic Design and Manufacturing Study on Advanced Compound Material and Structure of Airliner Radial Tire” program was held on Dec. 18 in Beijing.
The program is initiated by Beijing University of Chemical Technology, and the participants include Harbin Institute of Technology, Zhejiang University, Sichuan University, and South China University of Technology.
Wang Feng, board chairman of Linglong Tire, has been designated as the head member of the program’s technology cooperation advisory committee.
Wang said Linglong Tire has committed to raising fund and building aircraft tire production lines and special testing and analyzing equipment.
