Bekaert Becomes Contractual Inspection and Testing Center for CRIA
Bekaert (China) Technology and Research Co., Ltd. officially became a contractual inspection and testing center of China Rubber Industry Association for rubber and tire reinforcement materials (steel cord and steel wire), on Aug. 5. CRIA has issued a notification for the recognition.
Bekaert is the second contractual center of CRIA after Qingdao Eve Rubber Institute Ltd. Bekaerti is an internationally well known producer of tire steel cord that entered the Chinese market in 1990s and established its production base. Over the past few years, Bekaert’s businesses, particularly the reinforcement steel cord for radial tires, made sound progress.
The company has invested over 1.4 billion euros in China accumulatively and owns 20 operating bases in 10 Chinese cities, including production platns, R&D center, technology center, trading company and Asian headquarters. So far, the company has over 8,000 staff in China.
