Sentury to Pilot Mass Production of Graphene Static Conductive Tires

Qingdao Sentury Tire Co., Ltd. and Qingdao Huagao Graphene Technology Corp. signed a cooperation agreement on Aug. 3 to develop and produce graphene static conductive tires.

Li Zhongdong, chief engineer of Sentury's technology center, said the product will enter pilot production this year, the first five-year production is expected to reach five million tires, and the second five-year production to reach 10 million tires - mainly above 17-inch.

According to the agreement, Sentury will adopt the patent technology of graphene of Huagao Graphene for development and production of graphene static conductive tires.

The technology used for graphene static conductive tire production is capable of conducting static of the vehicle continuously and reliably through tires touching the ground.

The heat dissipation and mechanical strength of the graphene tires are also outstanding.

In addition, the two sides agreed to realize resource supplementary, industrialize graphene in rubber industry and get through the graphene industry chain.

The world's first graphene static conductive tire is expected to come off the production line soon in Qingdao and be put into the market.

Established in 2012, Huagao Graphene is a high-tech company specializes in quality graphene research, development and application.

The company set up Qingdao Graphene International Technology Cooperation Base and Qingdao Advanced Carbon Nanometer Material Engineering and Technology Research Center, as well as "Tsinghua-Qingdao Huagao Graphene Technology Center" with Tsinghua University.

Officially came on stream in July 2009, Sentury dedicates in research, development and production of green, quality, high-performance semi-steel radial tires and aviation tires.

The company owns three brands, namely Sentury, Landsail, and Delinte. It has established two tire production bases in Qingdao, Shandong province, and Thailand, with an overall capacity of 27 million semi-steel radial tires.
