BAIC falls far behind 3.5 million annual sales goal in China

Although GAC’s production scale expands rapidly in China, the company fails to achieve the target of 3 million vehicles for the year of 2015, not to join the line of the first-class automobile manufacturers, such as SAIC, FAW and Dongfeng.

For the first eleven months of 2015, the group’s sales amounted to 1.116 million, an increase of 13.26% on a year-on-year basis. But the number is less than a quarter of SAIC's. SAIC, as the top State-owned automotive group, witnesses its cumulative sales of the first 11 months reach 5.241 million units, 4.5 times more than that of the Guangzhou automobile group.

Obviously, GAC made radical sales goals based on its previous performance. GAC's five-year sales goal outnumbers its previous one by more than three times.

The tough environment also plays a role in its low sales. In the past five years, the Chinese automobile market has been confronted with overall slowdown.

The first 11 months of last year, sales amounted to 1.116 million vehicles GAC for the average monthly sales is 101,400 units, or only about 1.22 million vehicles in annual sales. This means that only half of the "Twelfth-Five" goal of 2.4 million units has been reached.

However, GAC successfully completed the A share listing, achieving dual channel finance of A share and H share, along with which its independent brand GAC Trumpchi has also taken off.
