Hefei Wanli Tire All-steel Heavy-duty Radial Tire Intelligent Factory Starts Operation

Hefei Wanli Tire Co., Ltd.'s all-steel heavy-duty radial tire intelligent factory, with an annual capacity of 2 million sets, has started operation.

It means that the tire industry in Anhui province has realized the transition from manufacturing to "smart manufacturing".

The factory, with a planned investment of 1.99 billion yuan and an actual investment of 1.43 billion yuan, has covered an area of 500 mu.

The construction of the factory was kicked off on Jun. 26, 2015。

The first-phase capacity of the factory is expected to reach 1 million all-steel radial tires by the end of 2016, and to reach 2 million by the middle of 2017.

At the beginning of this year, Anhui province released a key project investment plan, valued more than 100 million yuan, in which a number of tire-related projects are involved.

Included are the high precision aluminium alloy radial tire segment mould project of Bengbu Dadao Machinery Technology Co., Ltd., with an annual capacity of 1,500 sets; and the high-performance heavy-duty radial tire project and special tire project of Delun Rubber Co., Ltd., with annual capacities of 2.5 million and 200,000, respectively.

Chen Zhiping, vice general manager of JAC Motors Co., Ltd., said the tire industry has entered a mature and stable period from rapid development, and the producers’concentration has shifted from scale and price to competitiveness and power.

Over the past few years, the tire industry in Anhui province has made sound progress, leading tire brands, including Giti, Wanli, and Continental, established production bases in the province, which reduced logistics and facilitating costs and boosted the development of local auto industry.
