Fanyu Factory of Huanan Rubber Tire to Stop Production and Move as Scheduled

The management of Guangzhou Huanan Rubber Tire Co., Ltd. negotiated with the Bureau of Environmental Protection in Fanyu district, Guangzhou, promised to stop the last production line of the company’s Fanyu factory at the end of Dec. as scheduled, and the Fanyu factory will stop production.

The reason for the move of Fanyu factory of Huanan Rubber Tire is the factory discharges waste gases in some of the production processes.

Although the company has made efforts in combating waste gas emission, it failed to depollute completely due to technological issues. At the same time, residents in the neighborhood increased continuously and the complaints were mounting.

The government of Fanyu district requested in Jan. the company to stop production and move away from the district before the end of this year.

In Feb., the company promised to officially start moving its Fanyu factory.

As scheduled, the company’s headquarters was moved to Conghua, Guangdong province, on Feb. 1.

The Fanyu factory began to reduce the production of semi-steel tires since April 1 and the semi-steel tire production was stopped completely for moving before June 30.

The person in charge of the company said that in spite of the influences on production, it will keep the promise to stop production and move away.

The management also promised to continue the depollution works before the official close down of the Fanyu factory.
