The High Performance Elastomers business unit of Lanxess A.G. has raised prices effective June 1 for EPDM, NBR and CR synthetic rubber grades sold in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
Its EPDM and CR grades rose by about $111 a metric ton, based on current exchange rates, while the prices for NBR grades increased by about $100.
Lanxess sells EPDM under the Keltan brand for use in automotive, plastic modification, wire and cable, construction and oil additives.
The firm’s NBR is marketed under the Perbunan, Krynac and Baymond N brands and is used for seals; hoses in hydraulic and pneumatic applications; or blankets for rolls.
The CR line is sold under the Baypren brand for such uses as cable sheathings, hoses, belts and air springs.
