China's tire exports continue to decline in June

China's tire exports in June 2020 reached 36.3 million units, down 21.2% compared with a year ago.

The value of exports presented in U.S. dollars in June fell by 27.9% to $998 million, China's General Administration of Customs said. Weight of these exports dipped 20.7% to 460,000 tons.

This is the third month in a row that such exports showed two-digit decrease across-the-board, according to figures released by the customs office.

Over the first half of 2020, China's tire exports contracted 21.1% to 155 million units, from 196 million units registered in the first six months of 2019. Export value during the period shrunk by 24.9% to $5.6 billion; volumes in tonnage slid 19.2% to 2.5 million tons.

The country's export of automotive tires in June arrived at 406,600 tons, registering a 22.1% decrease year on year. The value of exports crashed 29.9% to $866 million.

Exports of automotive tires over the first half of 2020 amounted to 2.2 million tons, down 19.9% from the first half of 2019. Value declined by 25.9% to $4.9 billion.
