The United States recent anti-dumping and countervailing investigations on imports of OTR tires, medium and heavy truck tires from China has yieldmixed results, with an end of probe into the OTR tires but continuous investigation into truck and bus tires.

Since China’s accession to the World Trade Organization, it has witnessed increasing trade and trade frictions with other countries, said Su Fei, director of China Enterprises Overseas Development Center (CEODC).

The frequent antidumping and countervailing investigations imposed on Chinese component manufactures is mainly a result of the competitive prices which have caused pressure on importing countries, he explained.

The U.S. investigations, as well as trade barriers set by others countries, have cast shadows on China’s tire exports in the days ahead.
