China's limit purchase policies pushes auto inventory high

By the end of 2014, the inventory of motor vehicles in China reached 264 million, among which there are 154 million autos. The drivers of motor vehicles are over 300 million and more and 246 million for autos.

The transportation bureau of Ministry of Public Security had released above data on 27th January. Related principal introduces the inventory of Chinese auto keeps increasing rapidly due to the development of society and rigid demand of autos. There are 21.88 million new autos registered in 2014 and the increment of inventory are 17.07 million, which are both highest in the history.

The ratio of auto in motor vehicle has increased rapidly from 43.88% to 58.62% during past 5 years. There are 35 cities whose inventory are over 1 million and for Beijing, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Tianjin, Shanghai, Suzhou, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou and Zhengzhou, the data is over 2 million.

By the end of 2014, the inventory of small passenger car had reached 117 million and 105 million are private, occupying 90.16% and increasing 19.89% than the data in 2013. There are 25 private cars for average 100 families and 63 for Beijing, over 40 for Guangzhou and Chengdu etc.

The data shows the average increment of motor vehicle are over 15 million in recent 5 years and the annual increment of drivers are 20.57 million. The drivers of motor vehicles are over 300 million and more and 246 million for autos.
