14 rubber processors in Hainan closed down
From 2016 to the first half of 2017, a total of 14 rubber processing companies were closed down in Hainan province.
All these companies have caused environmental pollution illegally.
A rubber processing factory in Danzhou city spilled liquid waste over the ditch and secretly discharged effluent to rain gutter. The illegal behaviors were discovered by the supervisors and the factory was instructed to rectify the wrongdoings.
There are five rubber companies in Lingao county: three are instructed to address issues such as pollution control, and two are under ordinary operation.
The two rubber processing factories in Baisha county meet the environmental protection requests.
An official with Hainan Rubber Group said there are 15 rubber processing factories under the group: 14 of them are under ordinary operation, while Chengmai Jinfu processing factory stopped production as it failed to cover the oxidation pond.
Hainan Rubber Group has spent a lot to upgrade the factories’ oxidation ponds and anaerobic tanks, to ensure meeting the environmental protection requests.
