Shandong gov’t to exercise strict control over additional capacity in tire industry

Shangdong government has issued a regulation again to exercise strict control over additional capacity in tire industry.

To boost petrochemical industrial restructure, transformation and efficiency, Shandong province has issued a policy and stated strict control over excess capacity in the tire industry.

According to the regulation, relevant authorities shall not approve new tire programs, or provide lands, conduct environmental assessment, and give credit to such programs illegally.

For technical reform and improvement programs meeting government’s request, the authorities should ensure no more capacity is added.

Shandong government also encourages the tire industry to demonstrate and spread the intelligent workshops and the adoption of machines.

An industry insider says the new policy further represents the decisiveness of the government.

The new policy asks relevant authorities to work out a chemical industry deployment and development plan for the province, make clear the key development sectors, technologies and directions, optimize industrial deployment, and improve policy measures.
