A new regulation on Electric Vehicles charging infrastructure construction in Shanghai came into force in July the first, according to which the newly built civil residence and transportation center should leave 10% of the whole parking area to build EV charging infrastructures. It means that one out of ten parking lot offer EV charging service in the newly constructed residence communities.
Meanwhile, the Guangzhou city government passed a similar regulation on promoting the construction and management of EV charging infrastructures in June 29, two days before the Shanghai regulation coming into force. However, it is 18% area that this Guangdong regulation requires civil buildings to reserve in the whole parking lot for EV charging station.
Besides the similar regulation on EV charging infrastructures for Beijing city is coming into being probably at the end of the year. Compared with the Guangdong regulation, it added more requirements for office buildings, shopping malls, hospitals, hotels and tourist attractions to leave enough construction area for EV charging infrastructures.
According the statistics of Chinese MinistryofIndustryandInformationTechnology, the number of the EV charging infrastructures is only 25% of the number of the whole registered EVs in China, falling far behind the 100% target.
Given that Chinese central government and local ones continues to release preferential policies for EV development and that the fast growing of EV charging infrastructures construction, Chinese consumers hold increasingly higher fever for purchasing EVs.
The third Beijing car lottery has authorized 6,454 people to drive electric cars, a 92% month-on-month growth, which indicates that the EV will become increasingly popular in the Chinese car market as the advance of EV charging infrastructures construction.
