In the beginning of June, Tesla announced that the company had established a network of Supercharger stations in China, costing several hundred million dollars. And it will continue to expand its charging network in China, hoping that the national charging standard will soon come into being in China.
According to the announcement of the manufacture, a widespread charging network for long distance travel has been accomplished, covering the Jingjinji region (Beijing Tianjin and Hebei), the Yangtze River Delta region and the Pearl River Delta region.
Late this year, Tesla will continue to construct an even bigger charging network in the seven key areas of China, which are the pan Yangtze River Delta region (Shanghai Jiangsu Zhejiang and Anhui) and North-CentralChina, North-Northeast China, Northwest-central China, Northwest-southwest and East-south China, and Mount Huangshan Supercharger stations travel line.
The reason why Tesla invests so much money to build its own charging network is that the current standard for EV charging infrastructures is not strict enough to prevent various dangers. The spokesman of the enterprise stated that active adjustment will be made in the infrastructures when the new national standard comes into force.
Currently there are five kinds of EV charging infrastructures in China, which are CHAdeMO, Combo, Tesla, Mennekes and CEE. As the explosive growth of the EV, many problems have emerged hindering its further development, like the limited charging infrastructures and the lack a national charging standard.
