Taiwan Tire Giants Expand Productions

The three tire giants in Taiwan, Cheng Shin Tire, Kenda Tire, and Nankang Rubber Tire, have all made plans for construction expansion or production in 2017.

Two New Plants of Cheng Shin Start Production

Cheng Shin Rubber Industrial Co., Ltd. announced lately that two of its new tire plants in India and Indonesia will start operation in the second and third quarter of this year, respectively.

By then, daily capacity of each plant will reach 20,000 motorcycle tires, satisfying local customers’ demand.

The company expects to grab more regional market share.

Cheng Shin predicts that because of strong demand on global auto market, its sales revenue will grow this year.

Cheng Shin is the world’s 9th largest tire manufacturer and locates in Penghua, Taiwan.

Capacity of Kenda Tire Keeps Expanding

The new plant of Kenda Tire broke ground in May 2016 in Yunlin, Taiwan.

The plant is expected to start operation in 2017 to manufacture and storage trailor tires and engineering vehicle tires.

Before that, Kenda Tire’s plant in Indonesia officially started operation with a daily capacity of 40,000 bicycle tires and 34,000 motorcycle tires, and it plans to add auto tire production lines. At the same time, the second plant of Kenda Tire in Vietnam launched pilot production of auto tires.

In addition, Kenda Tire intends to build a new tire production plant in India, as its annual sales in the South Asia country is over 300,000 tires.

Nankang Rubber Tire Extends Xinfeng Plant

The Xinfeng plant of Nankang Rubber Tire is under extension.

It is reported that the company’s Xinfeng plant and Zhangjiagang plant are operating near their capacities.

The daily capacity of Xinfeng plant is 18,000 tires and that of Zhangjiagang plant is 24,000 tires.

Europe, the U.S., Japan and Australia are major target markets of Nankang Rubber Tire.

It has developed new product lines to eliminate or substitute existing products, in a bid to satisfy European and American markets’ demand on tire functions.

The tire branch of Nankang Rubber Tire set up in Zhangjiagang was established in 1997 and its passenger car tires were produced since 2003.
