Qingdao Launches “China Green Tire Safety Week”

The Second China Green Tire Safety Week and Tire Labeling Release Conference of China Rubber Industry Association were held on June 15 in Qingdao, Shandong province.

CRIA published the Tire Rating Standards and the Regulations for Tire Labeling Management, as well as the samples of tire labels designed by CRIA. It marks tire rating in China officially enters a stage of voluntary implementation.

Under the theme of “Green and Environment Protection, Travel Safely”, CRIA organized the safety week campaign in Qingdao, Shanghai and Beijing.

Deng Yalin, chairwomen of CRIA, said at the addressing speech that CRIA initiated the green tire industrialization in 2012 and continued promoting industrial transformation and upgrade, green development of China’s tire industry.

She emphasized that the implementation of tire labeling mechanism would help consumers tell the quality of tires, encourage green manufacturing and green consumption, and accelerate the technological progress, quality improvement and structural adjustment of China’s tire industry.

Xu Wenying, deputy chairwoman and secretary general of CRIA, said an increasing number of countries rolled out tire labeling acts. CRIA has been devoted to push forward tire labeling mechanism in China.

She expected the tire safety week campaign would help more consumers recognize and accept tire label.

CRIA’s online application and management data platform for tire labels was accessible since June 15.

The self-declaration and labeling of tire labels will be officially launched on Sept. 15.

It was the second time that the domestic tire industry spreading basic tire knowledge and common sense for safety tire usage, and publicizing green tires with a high-profile since last year’s first China Green Tire Safety Week campaign for public welfare.
