Natural Rubber Imports from Xiamen Customs up over 30%

As the recovery of tire industry, China’s imports of natural rubber have also increased.

Statistics released by Xiamen Customs show that in the first four months of this year, natural rubber imports from there rose 32.6% to 17,700 tons.

In April, natural rubber imports from the customs rose 1.7-fold to 6,462 tons, hitting a new high since Dec. 2013.

Only 8 tons of natural rubber were from Taiwan, all of the rests were imported from ASEAN.

Included were 12,000 tons from Thailand, up 12.1%; 3,216 tons from Indonesia, up 7-fold; and 2,289 tons from Vietnam, up 24.6%.

Foreign invested companies were the major importers and they imported 12,500 tons of natural rubber in January-April, up 78.4%, accounting for 70.6% of the total natural rubber imports from Xiamen Customs.

In addition, private companies in China imported 4,189 tons of natural rubber, down 26.6%; state-owned companies imported 1,017 tons, up 58.3%.
