Intelligent vehicle prevalent in China, outsiders work with insiders
Intelligent vehicle has grown to be next hot business section along with Tesla’s birth in Silicon Valley and many biggest Internet firms joining in the section.
In July, a Chinese version of Tesla EV, named “You Xia” (Ranger literally) intelligent vehicle has triggered another hot discussion in China. There have been eight Chinese traditional automakers implementing strategy in intelligent vehicles.
Since the year earlier, many Internet corporations, including Apple, Google, pushed forward the development of intelligent vehicles. In China, outsider corporations like e-commerce giant Alibaba Group, searcher-engine leader Baidu Corporation and LeshiInternetInformationandTechnology, also have hurried to join the intelligent vehicle making industry. Some small companies namely Pateo Corporation, Weilai Corporation and Youxia Company also presented in the competition.
On the other hand, insiders, tradition automakers will not stand by; they choose to cooperate with outsiders corporations.
Dongfeng Motors has assigned an agreement with Huawei information and communications Technology Company in business sections covering vehicle electronics, intelligent vehicle, and IT/ICT information construction and so on.
BAIC has established cooperation with Letv Corporation in intelligent vehicle. Changan Auto has planned to investment 13 billion CNY till 2025 to establish six big platforms and to develop five core implication technologies in intelligent industry.
SAIC also made two-step strategy in the hot business section: to work with Alibaba Group and to develop intelligent unmanned vehicles.FAW released an intelligent vehicle scheme in April, being the first batch Chinese automakers to publicize complete intelligent vehicle strategy. JAC and Haima Motoralso joined the intelligent vehicle development party. Great Wall Motors, as a latecomer in the section, announced in July that the company will invest one thirds of its raised fund of 16.8 billion CNY to develop intelligent vehicle.
