Heavy truck Q1 sales surge 93%

China Association of Automobile Manufacturers released Apr. 11 the output and sales statistics of auto in the first quarter.

Among major commercial vehicles in Mar., both bus and truck outputs and sales showed two-digit growth from Feb., while the trucks grew faster.

In Mar., China's bus output and sales were 41,500 and 41,100, respectively, up 83.11% and 66.71% month on month, but were down 13.46% and 17.68% over the same period last year.

The output and sales of buses in Mar. were 5,500 and 5,300, up 1.6-fold and 1.9-fold from Feb.; and on a yearly basis, the output was down 2.09%, and the sales was up 0.90%.

The output and sales of mid-sized buses were 4,100 and 4,000, respectively, up 1.4-fold and 1.3-fold from Feb.; on a yearly basis, the output was down 27.98%, and the sales was down 28.49%.

The output and sales of light buses were 31,900 and 31,800, respectively, up 69.08% and 50.85% from Feb.; on a yearly basis, the output was down 12.93%, and the sales was down 18.64%.

In Mar. China's truck output and sales were 374,500 and 405,600, respectively, up 29.36% and 43.88% month on month; on a yearly basis, the output and sales were respectively up 13.65% and 21.24%.

China's heavy truck output and sales in Mar. were 110,000 and 114,600, respectively, up 27.87% and 32.72% month on month; on a yearly basis, the output and sales were respectively up 51.14% and 53.36%.

The output and sales of mid-sized trucks were 22,700 and 23,500, respectively, up 47.23% and 38.24% from Feb.; on a yearly basis, the output was down 7.59%, but the sales was up 5.91%.

The output and sales of light trucks were 183,900 and 189,400, respectively, up 40.19% and 45.77% from Feb.; on a yearly basis, the output and sales were up 8.90% and 6.18%, respectively.

Moreover, the micro-bus output and sales were 57,900 and 78,000, respectively, from Feb.; on a yearly basis, the output was down 8.56%, but the sales was up 31.81%.

In the first three months, China's bus output and sales were 94,200 and 95,400, respectively, down 22.51% and 21.13% year on year.

During the period, the output and sales of large buses were 10,500 and 10,400, respectively, down 33.73% and 30.92% year on year.

The output and sales of mid-sized buses were 9,600 and 9,500, respectively, down 40.94% and 40.92% year on year.

Those of light buses were74,100 and 75,500, respectively, down 17.19% and 15.94% year on year.

In the first three months, China's truck output and sales were 931,500 and 959,100, respectively, up 21.37% and 30.07% year on year.

During the period, the output and sales of heavy trucks were 277,900 and 284,000, respectively, up 79.35% and 93.02% year on year.

The output and sales of mid-sized trucks were 51,800 and 55,500, respectively, with the output down 6.77% and the sales up 11.80% year on year.

The output and sales of light trucks were 436,500 and 438,600, respectively, up 11.32% and 12.07% year on year.

And those of micro-sized trucks were 165,300 and 181,000, respectively, up 0.29% and 21.24% year on year.
