Linglong Tire is pushing ahead with an ongoing technical service project in Uzbekistan. Following the completion and acceptance of the first phase of the Uzbekistan Rubber Products Factory project, for which Linglong provided technical support, the company has virtually signed a contract to commence the second phase of the project.
The project is being led by the governments of China and Uzbekistan under the former’s ‘13th Five-Year Plan’ period, and is intended to facilitate the building of Uzbekistan’s first manufacturing facility for tires, conveyor belts and other rubber products.
During the on-site activities to date, Linglong says its team overcame problems related to the Covid-19 pandemic, including staff shortages, to conduct on-site construction and tire product debugging, while also offering guidance on equipment installation and commissioning, providing on-site technical training and conducting performance testing in the tire factory.
Following the signing of the contract confirming the project’s second phase, Linglong will now send further technical and management personnel to the site to assist in tire design, product development, quality control, testing, inspection and verification.
It is notable that the operation is Linglong’s first technical service project, which it says marks a move toward being both a tire producer and supplier of technical services and management support to the wider industry.
