China started 3mln/y of tire project foundation in Cambodia

Recently, Car Far Rubber industry has held foundation ceremony for its first-phase 50,000 tons/year of rubber projection in Kratié Special Economic Zone in Cambodia.

The whole project was developed by Zhongqi Overseas (Cambodia) Industrial Co.,Ltd, with 9 square kilometers.

After completion, there would be 50,000 tons/year of raw rubber and 3 million tons/year of tires produced, and exported to Southeastern Asia, China, United State of America, Europe and so on.

The whole construction would be divided into three phases, according to the schedule.

Car Far Rubber (Cambodia) project was one of 103 important projects invested by Chinese Commerce Ministry.

Zhongqi Overseas (Cambodia) Industrial Co.,Ltd was founded in September 2012 with a registered capital of 10 million US dollars. The company mainly engages in development and management of the special economic zone, international trade, logistics and warehousing and processing of agricultural products and their by-products. 

Kratié Special Economic Zone, the company's major management project:

The zone lies in Snoul county of Kratié Province. The county is the biggest international land port of the north-east of Cambodia. The zone is 1.5 kilometers from the international land port of Cambodia and Vietnam, 240 kilometers from Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia, and 160 kilometers from Hochiminh Port, Vietnam. The projected Trans-Asian railway will run through Snoul County with its Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh section. In sum, the zone enjoys a good geographical location and boasts convenient transportations.

The overall planed area of the zone is about 9 square kilometers and the planned investment is 600 million US dollars, of which 45.7 million US dollars has already been invested. The zone is generally planned as a comprehensive industrial park, and is divided into agricultural planting and processing area, warehousing and logistics area, timber processing area, rubber processing area, construction materials processing area, stone processing area and others, as well as the projected thermal power plant, water treatment plant, sewage treatment plant and others. The zone can allow over 200 enterprises to run their businesses here and provide 100000 job positions. At present, a standard plant of 100000 ㎡ is under construction.

During the visit to Cambodia by Chinese President Xi Jinping in October 2016, Kratié Special Economic Zone became one of the 11 key projects under the Memorandum of Understanding for Joint Promotion of Key Projects in Capacity and Investment Cooperation signed between the two sides and drew great attention from the two governments. In 2017 the zone was listed by the Ministry of Commerce of China as one of 103 key overseas zones of China.

The company follows the principle of good faith and service first, utilizes all its endeavors to build the best economic zone in the north east of Cambodia so as to make it a demonstrative zone in capacity and investment cooperation between China and Cambodia.
