Doublestar Dongfeng Tire relocation program kicks off

The “kick-off ceremony” of the 1.5-billion yuan Doublestar Dongfeng Tire Intelligent Factory relocation program was held on Mar. 5.

It was held in a small conference room in Zhangwan New Area of Industry in Shiyan, Hubei province. Face-to-face talk between local government and enterprises replaced all types of ceremonies.

Li Maoguo, director of the new area, is the chief service officer appointed by local government for the program. He said in-depth understanding of enterprises’ actual difficulties will facilitate their construction.

A total of 127 key programs value more than 100 million yuan each started construction in the first quarter in Shiyan, with an overall investment of 56.7 billion yuan.

Shiyan government stopped holding significant kick-off ceremony for key programs this year and asked officials of all levels talking to enterprises and help solve real problems.

Shiyan government and Doublestar Group signed an agreement on relocation of Doublestar Dongfeng Tire and new investment on Dec. 1, 2017.

According to the agreement, Doublestar Dongfeng Tire will move to the new area as a whole.

The new production base will include a cutting-edge Industry 4.0 intelligent industrial park, a tire Industry 4.0 intelligent factory, and a waste rubber and plastic green recycling Industry 4.0 intelligent factory.

The construction of the relocation program will take 18 months, with annual output of 1.5 million all-steel tires and 5 million semi-steel tires.
