Qingdao Nexen reaches record production in 2017
This year is the 10th anniversary for the operation of Qingdao Nexen Tire Co., Ltd..
Qingdao, Shandong province, is the location of one of the South Korea-based enterprise’s four global bases.
Nexen Tire established production plants and R&D center in Laixi, Qingdao, in 2007 and took it as a flagship base for China and for global market.
Laixi government has offered a variety of supports to the company for all these years.
The company received capital increases for three times and the overall investment in it reached 360 million U.S. dollars, with a daily output of 30,000 tires.
In 2016, Qingdao Nexen Tire’s annual output exceeded 10.5 million tires, the industrial output value was 1.91 billion yuan, the export totaled 1.04 billion yuan, and the domestic sales reached 857 million yuan.
In the meantime, the company was accepted by Volkswagen, Benz, and Qoros as a supplier.
Qingdao Nexen Tire is expect to lower the export rate of tires, expand its supply in the Chinese market, in a bid to drive the consumption in the replacement market.
