Trelleborg Builds up New Auto Parts Factory in China

Peter Nilsson, CEO of Trelleborg Group, disclosed that the company is building up the second auto parts manufacturing base in China.

During a recent media interview, Nilsson said Trelleborg has discovered that all their businesses have large development spaces in the Asian market, particularly in China, in which urbanization and population growth generate huge business potential.

Polymer parts produced by the company are thermoplastic sheaths of rotary and steering devices of passenger cars.

To expand the company’s auto sheath business in China, the company decided to build another factory in Wuhan.

Before that, they had built a factory in Wuxi to produce polymer auto parts.

The new factory is of the same size as Wuxi plant, with an area of some 4,500 square meters and a total of 25 sets of facilities, to meet the demands of Trelleborg’s key local clients.

Nilsson also disclosed that the new factory is expected to start operation in mid-2017.

Trelleborg Auto Parts (Wuxi) Co., Ltd. mainly engages in designing, manufacturing and sales of auto rubber sheath, rubber and plastic sheath, sealing elements, and other accessories.

Trelleborg has set up two tire manufacturing companies of its own in Xingtai, Hebei province.

Among them, Trelleborg Tire Industry (Hebei) Co., Ltd. produces band tires, which are sold to the Europe, America and Southeast Asia.

Trelleborg Tire Industry Product (Xingtai) Co., Ltd. produces inflated agricultural radial tires, forest tires and engineering tires from 18 to 42 inches, which are sold to the European market.
