Daily Tire Output of Sentury Tyre’s Thailand Base Hits 13,000
Daily tire output of Sentury Tyre’s production base in Thailand has reached 13,000, said Lin Yilong, general manager of Qingdao Sentury Tyre, lately at China Rubber Conference 2016.
It only took Sentury four months from the Thailand base’s production of the first tire to the entire production line reaching expected capacity.
The Thailand base is a primary smart manufacturing base constructed by Sentury. By smart manufacturing practices, the base’s productivity has increased 50%, the ratio of product qualification has reached 99.8%, and the land occupation was reduced by 50%.
In addition, the base’s labor costs dropped 75%, a crew of 476 is enough for the base with annual capacity of 12-million high-performance semi-steel radial tires. With smart stereoscopic inventory system, the storage capacity is also 50% larger than traditional warehouses.
