Sentury Tire Thailand Plant Turns Out First Landsail Units
Growing global demand for Landsail consumer tires pushed Sentury Tire Co. to open a new factory in Thailand. The first Landsail brand tires rolled off the production line earlier this week, reports Tyres & Accessories.
The new automated plant will mean a significant increase in the capacity and output of Landsail tires. “The new, highly efficient production base has the capacity to produce 12 million units every year. Combined with the current Chinese factory, this takes our annual production to 25 million pieces per year,” commented Sentury Group president Lanny Lin.
The Thailand plant’s progress comes just weeks after news that Sentury’s China plant achieved Industry 4.0 status, making it the first and only tire plant in China to achieve this ‘Smart Factory’ status.Sentury says that further tire plants are expected to come on-stream over the next six months as part of the company’s ongoing expansion and strategic development plans.
