Linglong adds TBR capacity to Thai plant

Chinese tire maker Shandong Linglong Tire Co. Ltd.’s subsidiary in Thailand has added radial truck tires to its year-old factory in Chonburi, Rayong Province.
Linglong International Tire (Thailand), the Thai subsidiary, put the capacity for truck tires at 1.2 million units a year, to go with 12 million units of car and light truck tire capacity, which came on stream a year ago.
Linglong did not provide any information as to the first sizes being produced at the plant, which represents an investment of $115 million, nor whether they’re being produced for domestic or export use.
Production at the plant was interrupted temporarily earlier this year following fires thatdestroyed warehousing adjacent to the factory.
