Toyota China has announced a recall of imported Lexus NX200 and NX200t vehicles, the Beijing Youth Daily reported today. The recall will begin on June 26. It will target vehicles produced between late December 2014 and early February 2015. A total of 2,801 vehicles in mainland China are subject to be recalled.
According to the report, the recall is due to specific problems with a few of the company’s suppliers in where some of the ABS sensors had resin accidentally dripping into their oil control valves during their manufacturing process. This may potentially lead to a problem where the oil control valve fails to operate in time when the ABS system is engaged, causing potential risks to safety. Toyota China will extensively inspect the ABS sensors of all recalled vehicles; any vehicles found to suffer from problems will have their ABS sensors replaced free of charge.
