JAC (600418.SH) Aug. auto sales up 12.4 pct y-o-y

Chinese automaker Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co. (JAC, 600418.SH) announced late Wednesday that it sold 37,520 motor vehicles in August, up 12.4 percent year on year.  

Headquartered in Hefei city of East China's Anhui province, JAC’s exports in August came to 4,550 units, a drop of 9.15 percent from 5,008 units in the same period of 2012.

Truck remains to be JAC's prime product, with monthly sales in August up 23.39 percent at 19,397 units, accounting for 51.7 percent of the automaker's total sales volume in the month. Truck sales in the first eight months of the year totaled 180,054 units, up 18.09 percent from a year earlier.

JAC sold 342,610 motor vehicles in the first eight months of 2013, an 18.66-percent rise year on year, including 42,781 units delivered to overseas markets, which marked an increase of 8.88 percent from a year ago. (Edited by Olivia, Olivia@tireworld.com.cn)
