SAIC Motor auto sales up 17% on year in Q1

China’s largest automaker by sales SAIC Motor said late Monday it sold 1.336 million motor vehicles in the first three months of 2013, representing a surge of 17.04% year on year.

The automaker’s monthly auto sales in March reached 462,508 units, up 17.4% from the same period of last year.

Output of SAIC Motor totaled 1.307 million units in the first quarter of this year, up 15.79% year on year, with March output up 13.2% year on year at 469,288 units.
