Beiqi Foton Sept. auto sales up 12.9pct on year

Beiqi Foton, one of China's largest commercial vehicle manufacturers, said late Monday it sold 55,204 motor vehicles in September of 2013, a jump of 12.9 percent year on year.

The Shanghai-listed company produced 56,869 motor vehicles last month, up 17.2 percent year on year, according to the company's filing to the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

The automaker sold 492,389 vehicles in the first nine months, up 5.8 percent from a year ago, while its auto output during the period totaled 479,553 units, a rise of 6.8 percent year on year.
