SKF Bearing opens new plant in Jinan
SKF recently built up a new bearing and truck wheel unit plant in Jinan city, East China’s Shandong province. The move is expected to help underpin the constant growth of SKF in China and the Asian markets as a whole.
The Jinan plant, involving an investment of 590 million Swedish kronor, is built on the standards of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED).
Major products of the new plant include roller bearing units and SKF detachable truck wheel units for the truck sector, industries, and automotive aftermarket.
The Jinan plant has already been put into operation and it is scheduled to offer up to 500 jobs.
“We’re very pleased to see the launch of our new plant in Jinan city; the plant is expected to support the truck industry in China and Asia as a whole,” said Tryggve Sthen, president of SKF Automotive Division.
The special designs of the detachable truck wheel units developed by SKF could help the company improve its cost-effectiveness and better meet the diversified demand of customers, according to the company.
