Honda car sales in China gain tad in July

Japanese automaker Honda Motor said on Wednesday that it sold 52,045 motor vehicles inChinalast month, a mild increase of 1.3 percent year on year.

During the first seven months of this year, Honda’s sales inChinatotaled 379,058 units, a surge of 17.4 percent from the same period of last year.

As for Honda’s two Chinese joint ventures, GAC Honda realized auto sales of 24,378 units in July, a decline of 20.5 percent year on year, while Dongfeng Honda sold 27,667 motor vehicles in July, up 33.3 percent year on year.

GAC Honda’s auto sales amounted to 185,024 units in January-July, up 8.5 percent year on year.

During the same period, Dongfeng Honda’s motor vehicle sales soared by 29.5 percent year-on-year, hitting 178,356 units.
