Beiqi Foton July sales down 2.9 percent on year

China’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer Beiqi Foton (600166.SH) said it sold 41,129 motor vehicles in July, a mild decrease of 2.9 percent from the 42,360 units logged in July 2011, according to the company’s filing to theShanghaistock exchange on Tuesday (August 14, 2012).
Beiqi Foton’s monthly output came to 37,163 units, up 1.44 percent year on year.
In January-July, the automaker sold 373,110 motor vehicles, down 6.8 percent over the corresponding period of last year. The company’s output during the first seven months reached 354,940 units, a 3.8-percent decline year on year.
Beiqi Foton is based inBeijing, capital city of China.
