Chinese automaker SAIC Motor is mulling over setting up a joint venture inThailand, and a new plant will be initially used to produce MG6 cars, according to a report published on auto.gasgoo.com.
SAIC will set up the new plant together with a Thai company, with each side holding a 50 percent stake.
The report didn’t specify the name of the company.
Earlier this month, SAIC Motor confirmed that it would start manufacturing MG3 Supermini in its Longbridge plant inBritainfrom 2013.
SAIC Motor isChina’s largest automobile manufacturer by sales volume.
