Sailun "A Chinese Tire That"s Ready to Roll

Recently, on hot and sunny days June 20 & 21, tire distributor, Dynamic Tire, was promoting its range of Chinese-made Sailun tires at the Autodrome Saint Eustache.

For this event, four Ford Fusion were fitted with Atrezzo tires, an affordable replacement for popular models… a car segment accounting for 40% of the market!

So that independent tires retailers could compare tire performance, 225/45ZR 17 sized tires were installed on four identical vehicles. Two of the cars were equipped with Sailun Atrezzo, and a competitor’s brand were installed on the other two.

While the Dynamic Tire team didn’t necessarily want to prove that its tires were the best, they did, however, want to show how this cheaper tire could prove competitive against leading brands. Looking at the results of the test driving on the track, we noticed that, as Sailun claims, the Atrezzo works hard. In fact, as Benny Bello of Pneus TB mentioned to me, “Until now, we had to trust the rep’s word that this tire is a winner, but from now on I know it for myself! I was really impressed by Atrezzo!”

Good price, good quality…

Considering the bad press the first Chinese-made tires had a few years ago, Dynamic Tire took great care to present Sailun well, so that everybody knew it was in no way a copier of existing products. Moreover,  Sailun didn’t want to be stuck with the reputation of a low end manufacturer. That’s also why Dynamic Tire rarely carries on these types of tests against high end brands.

Certainly Sailun is a small but serious firm capable of improving its products in a short time. That gives them a big advantage, according to the Dynamic Tire rep who previously worked at a big name manufacturer, where they took a lot of time to change course and did things the old way. This Chinese company adopts a multinational approach, paying careful attention to design and manufacturing and testing the uniformity of all its products. What’s more, Sailun is the only company to own its own track  test in China. Plus, it has partnered up with the University of Qingdao to establish a rubber engineering program …

Dynamic Tire’s Eastern Canada Sales Manager, Alain Duchesneau, is very happy with sales results and points out, “Sailun quickly became a sure sign of high quality and trustworthiness. The brand has been well supported by a readily available team, since it began producing tires, in 2003. In Quebec, it’s been that way for four years now, and I can tell you that we’ve greatly exceeded our objectives that we set at the brand’s launch”. Dynamic Tire has expanded in Toronto, doubling the tire warehouse surface area there, to ensure a quick and steady supply to all of its customers.
