Ford Motor said on Wednesday that its auto sales in China reached 30,976 units in January, a slump of 41.9 percent year on year.
The automaker attributed the sales decline to the decrease in inventory as well as the week-long Spring Festival which shortened the time for auto selling.
Changan Ford Mazda Automobile Co., a passenger vehicle joint venture jointly founded by Ford Motor, Chongqing-based ChangAn Automobile, and Japan's Mazda Motor, sold 18,324 Ford-brand vehicles in January, down 42.6 percent year on year.
