NR import value dove 33.7% in Xiamen

According to Xiamen Customs, there have been 530,000 tons of natural rubber imported into Xiamen in the past eleven months of 2018, yearly decreasing 10%, and import value dove 33.7% to 500 million yuan. 

At the same time, average import price was 9563 yuan per ton, yearly decreasing 26.3%.

Xiamen Customs said that there were few futures showed with natural rubber import:

Import volume continues decreasing 

Statistics showed that it was the fifth month that natural rubber import decreased.

The following is the monthly trend of natural rubber import into Xiamen Since 2017:

In January, natural rubber import created year's highest in 2018, and reached 9310 tons. After that, natural rubber import started fluctuation, and created year's lowest in October, importing 2236 tons.

In the past eleven months, natural rubber price kept at 9500 yuan per ton, and yearly decreased to 9462 yuan/ton in November, but monthly increasing 1.2%.

General trade took large rate

In the first eleven months, there were 41,000 tons of natural rubber imported via general trade, yearly down by 23.8%, which took 77.4% of total import volume.

At the same time, there were 7000 tons of natural rubber via process trade, yearly increasing 95.3%, and 5000 tons of natural rubber via bonded logistic, surging 800%.

All imported from ASEAN

Natural rubber imported into Xiamen were all from ASEAN.

There were 28,000 tons imported from Thailand, yearly increasing 10.4%, 13,000 tons from Vietnam, yearly decreasing 23.1% and 9000 tons from Indonesia, doving 38.8%.  

Several facts combined

Xiamen Customs said that with synthetic rubber cost and auto sales decreasing in China, it heavily hit natural rubber import.

Thailand's natural rubber price has slid to 42.38 Baht/kg, ten-year lowest. 

Adding to Sino-US trade conflict, Chinese tire companies has sped up oversea plant's construction, which further affected natural rubber import.
