China July natural rubber imports up 33% on year, customs

Chinaimported 174,030 metric tonnes of natural rubber in July, a surge of 33.2% year on year, according to the latest statistics released by the General Administration of Customs (GAC) on Tuesday (August 21, 2012).
The monthly import figure represented a 6.56% rise from June.
During the first seven months of this year,China’s natural rubber imports totaled 1.16 million metric tonnes, up 15.4% year on year.
Chinais the largest rubber importer in the world, sourcing natural rubber chiefly fromThailand,IndonesiaandMalaysia.
