China's tire exports via Shandong Port surge in Q1-Q3

Tire products delivered viaChina’sShandongPortto overseas markets surged 16.4% year on year to 120 million units in the first three quarters of this year, according to the latest statistics of the local Customs of Qingdao, a major city of eastChina’sShandongprovince.

The value ofChina’s tire exports in the January-September period reached 6.53 billion US dollars, up 16.6% from the corresponding period of last year.

But the average price ofChina’s tire products delivered to overseas markets during the period came to 34.9 US dollars per unit, down 1.8% year on year.

Analysts noted that the export surge is mainly attributed to the increase in domestic tire makers’ production capacity and improved market confidence following the expiration of US tariffs onChina’s tire products.
