India prolongs anti-dumping duty on Chinese tires

Indian Ministry of Finance has decided to prolong anti-dumping duty levied on non-radial tires from China and Thailand for another six months to October 7th, 2012, Press Trust of India reported recently.

The purpose is to protect India’s native tire industry, the report said.

This is not the first time for India to take anti-dumping measures targetting at China. On January 1st, 2010, under request of India’s Automotive Tire Manufacturers' Association, India’s Anti-dumping Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry decided to levy an anti-dumping tax from 24.97% to 88.27% on radial tires made in China and Thailand.

Besides, India has also extended anti-dumping duty on flat base steel wheels imported from China.
