It’s said the Double Credit Policy will be Postponed

It’s said the credit policy for alternative energy vehicles will be postponed to implement in the year 2019, and that the proportion in 2019 and 2020 keeps to be 10% and 12% respectively, and the average fuel consumption credit will be implemented in the year 2018.

But insiders from the Ministry of Industry and Information denied that news. But reporters learn from all sides that it’s quite possible that the above statements will be true.

It’s obvious that the postponing policy will be beneficial for foreign brands. According to the previous policies, the proportion of alternative energy credits in 2018 will be 8%, and it is hardly to achieve for most companies. The postponing policy will give one year’s buffering time for auto companies to organize joint-venture companies to meet the target.

VW established an alternative energy vehicle company with JAC Auto on June 1st, emphasizing that VW has priorities to buy the joint-venture company’s excess credits. Daimler also signed an alternative energy investment agreement with BAIC Group to take shares in BAIC BJEV and introduce alternative energy products. Ford Auto also announced to establish a joint-venture company with Zotye, which will apply for BEV passenger vehicle certificate. Renault-Nissan also planned to establish a new BEV joint-venture company with Dongfeng Group, with the name as eGT. Renault and Nissan would hold 25% shares while Dongfeng Group would hold the remaining 50% shares. The joint-venture company will produce new BEV models since the year 2019 with an annual capacity of 120,000 units.
