EU reduces duties on China-produced tires from Oct.31

EU has recently reduced the anti-dumping duties on imported truck and bus tires from China and the new duty has taken effect on Tuesday, news website sina.com reported.

The new anti-dumping rates are between 3.6 percent to 13.7 percentage points lower than the previous rates that were effective on May 5, when the EU determined that the China-produced truck and bus tires would carry duties between 52.85 euros ($60.27) and 82.17 euros each tire that time. The decision also comes at a time when EU's relation with the US soured, which experts said has prompted the European bloc to seek closer cooperation with China.

The EU began an anti-dumping investigation against Chinese producers in August 2017, after it received a complaint from a coalition of European tire manufacturers, news website theepochtimes.com reported.

In 2016, the EU's total light truck and truck tire imports from China was 4.42 million units, up from 1.4 million in 2010, the report said.
